Who we are

Outperform was founded to fill glaring deficiencies in our healthcare system.

Our current healthcare model is focused on ameliorating disease once it has taken hold — and although few of us feel satisfied with the experience, the outcome is usually sufficient.

US healthcare is, however, often disinterested in helping you achieve your full physical potential or proactively preventing disease.

Our ability to direct these optimizations is rapidly changing due to the exponentially decreasing cost of genome sequencing. Unfortunately modern hospital systems take little advantage of this.

Evidence-based medicine is becoming uncommon; physicians are unwilling to say “I don’t know, let me look into that for you.” Testing and referrals are taking the place of time with patients and journals.

We know more about the human body than we ever have before. We have consumer-level tools to gather data about our bodies — and physicians have no time to interpret these data, less time to stay informed, and less time with their patients than ever before. This is not the way forward.

But science has advanced while the healthcare system has refused to. We have the power to detect cancer early with noninvasive tests. We can determine a large portion of your risk for most cancers and dementia with genome sequencing. We can monitor your body’s response to dietary changes and exercise in real-time. And yet none of this is offered by your physician… until now.
